We understand that plans can change, and we're here to help you make the most of your travel experience. Once a hotel reservation is made we are unable to directly modify the dates of stay.
Please see the options given below for Refundable and Non-refundable bookings. These options apply to almost all modifications, including:
- Changing the number of guests
- Changing the name of the lead guest
- Changing the room type
- Changing the hotel that was reserved
Refundable Booking:
If your reservation falls within its penalty-free cancellation timeframe and is currently refundable, you may cancel your existing reservation and rebook your preferred dates with SmarterTravel.
Your satisfaction is our priority, so it is important to be mindful of the following when considering this option:
- Be sure to review the price for your new preferred dates before canceling and rebooking.
- If you choose to exercise this option SmarterTravel won't be able to match the original rate you secured. We cannot price-match former rates for any reason and you will only be able to secure the new booking for the rate advertised at the time of booking. Rest assured, we'll ensure you get the best available rate at the time of rebooking!
For instructions on how to cancel your reservation view our Help Center Article: How to cancel my hotel reservation.
Non-refundable Booking:
For non-refundable bookings or bookings that have already passed the fee cancellation window, it will not be possible to shorten the dates of stay or cancel the reservation without penalty. We are contractually bound by the cancellation policy that was agreed upon at the time of booking.
Changing the number of guests:
If the booking is not refundable, the hotel reserves the right to charge you an additional fee for any additional person over the amount that was originally booked or refuse to admit the additional persons.
Changing the room type:
If the booking is not refundable, we recommend calling the hotel to see if they can accommodate the room change as a special request. Smarter Travel will not be able to escalate this matter on our client's behalf. The hotel reserves the right to charge the guest an upgrade fee upon check-in if they have the ability to modify the room type.
Changing the Hotel:
If the booking is not refundable, you can still book a new reservation, however, you will not be able to receive a refund for your original booking. It will remain nonrefundable.
